Is gene therapy always the best answer?
Is it right?Gene therapy is not generally regarded as controversial in it's usage, however, there may be some issues in regards to:
- transfer of cells from one person to another (e.g. stem cell transferal) - the use of laboratory modified materials such as liposomes or the altered genes themselves All in all, this procedure, as long as it is effective, is morally sound, and should pose no threat to moral boundaries. |

Liposome - a tiny sack made of a phospholipid outside and a water-filled inside, that is often used as a carrier for other cells.
Biotechnology - the harnessing of biological aspects to shape or create, technology using biology. Gene Therapy - the act of altering and reinserting a gene to fulfill a specific purpose Stem cells - an undifferentiated cell that has the ability to differentiate, most commonly producing red blood cells. |
